A prepaid meter is a utility meter that requires you to purchase credit (tokens) before using electricity or water. You enter a unique token code into the meter, which adds credit to your balance. When the credit runs out, the supply is cut off until you purchase more tokens. This eliminates monthly billing and disputes.
How do I buy electricity, water or gas tokens?
You can purchase tokens via EFT bank transfer using our banking details on the Buy Tokens page. Simply make a payment with your meter number as the reference, and your token will be issued via SMS or email once payment is confirmed. Tokens are typically issued within minutes during business hours.
